St. Peter-Paul Medical Clinic, Inc., with its main office located at 1182 Grey Street, Ermita, Manila, Philippines, and its affiliates (hereafter, together and individually: “SPPMCI”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting and respecting data privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we gather and use information we acquired from patients of SPPMCI that have completed the Patient Registration process and other related and required forms that are required to administer their requests for medical diagnostic tests.

Information collected and held by SPPMCI through any of SPPMCI's digital resources, for example, via our websites, applications, email correspondence, marketing materials, and other online or downloadable tools (collectively, “online resources”) that reference or display a link to this Policy are subject to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), and respects and supports privacy protection in relation to information collected..

This Policy is supported by our Cookie Policy, which describes the way our websites and other online resources use cookies. Your use of these online resources is also subject to our Terms of Use.

1. How We Collect Information

SPPMCI operates and provides online resources with information about the services we offer. Some of the online resources we offer are in collaboration with third-party service providers. Our relationships with these service providers are guided by agreements that require your information to be processed and held securely.

There are three ways in which we gather information:

a. The Information You Give Us

We collect information whenever you fill out forms to request for our services, which include a pre-registration form, medical diagnostic test, and consent forms.

The information you provide us may include but not limited to the following:

  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Religious Affiliation
  • Medical Information
  • Other information relevant to diagnoses, treatment and/or request for healthcare services at SPPMCI
b. Information We Collect from Your Use of Our Site

This includes technical information: information about your visit, and information about your activity on our Site such as pages you viewed, page response times, download errors, length of visit to certain pages, page interaction information (scrolling, clicks, and mouseovers), methods to browse to and away from a page, and methods used to contact our staff or support team. Technical information may also include the Internet protocol address used to connect your device to the Internet, unique device identifiers, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating systems, and device platform.

If you are a registered user of our online services from our Site, this includes your email address, and you may add other information to complete your profile within our system.

c. Information We Receive from Other Sources

This is information we receive about you from your current employer, recruitment agency, third-party health care providers or any other person that you have authorized to disclose your personal data to SPPMCI.

2. How We Use the Information We Collect

SPPMCI will use the information you provide for legitimate business purposes, in a manner that is consistent with this Policy and in compliance with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules.

a. The Information You Give Us

We will use your personal data primarily to verify your identity, and to manage and administer medical diagnostic tests you requested.

In cases where an investigation is to be conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority, SPPMCI will comply with law enforcement agencies in providing information to assist in the investigation without violating your rights and according to legal procedures.

We will also use your personal data to provide you services for our Site, including services arising from any obligations covered in a contract between you and SPPMCI. This may include providing you access to your medical diagnostic test results from our Site.

For registered users of our online resources, this may include access to services you have requested from us, including medical examination results through a transmittal report that can be viewed and printed from our Site.

b. Information We Collect from Your Use of Our Site

We will use this information to administer and improve our Site, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, and statistical survey purposes. We will also use this information to keep our Site safe and secure, for measuring the effectiveness of how we present content and how we market and advertise our services. We use Internet protocol addresses and non-personally identifiable information in our log files to analyze trends, to administer our Site, to track users’ movements in and around our Site, and to gather demographic information about our users.

c. Information We Receive from Other Sources

In most cases, we will consolidate all the information you give to us with the information we collect from our Site and from other sources for our legitimate interests, without violating your rights. This information will help us keep track of the effectiveness of the advertising of our services and deliver the best recommendations to you and other users of our Site about our services that may interest you and other users.

3. Where We Store Information

The patient registration, medical testing and consent forms are securely stored at our branches in the Philippines (Manila, Cebu, and Davao) where the medical diagnostic tests are performed. The digital records are stored electronically in a secure medical system database with their own server located at their respective branch and managed by SPPMCI.

We store your personal information on servers with limited access that are in secured facilities and use a variety of technologies and procedures intended to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

No persons other than SPPMCI's authorized users can access your information held in the medical system database. All persons who can access the information are required to maintain its confidentiality and comply with privacy laws.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

The disclosure of your information is governed by the conditions set forth from the consent form you have read, understand, and signed affirming your consent to share your personal information as well as your medical diagnostic and laboratory tests results to your recruitment agency, current/prospective employer, government and regulatory agencies, or any third-parties as may be permitted by law, for the purpose of determining your medical fitness for work deployment locally or abroad.

5. Your rights to Your Information

You have the right to access the information you provide and enable you to verify whether we process your information in compliance with applicable data protection laws, rules, and regulations.

The same consent form mentioned in section 4 above provides you, to exercise your rights to access, correct, restrict, block the sharing your information, and under certain conditions, its disposal and destruction from our systems.

6. Security of Collected Information

We have taken all viable procedures to make sure that the information we collect from you with our manual forms are being stored securely at our branches. For our online resources, we have taken steps to prevent the unauthorized release of, or access to, information we collect and receive from you.

While we are committed to create online resources that are always secure and reliable, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of communications or materials transmitted to or from us (or to or from any other party), via the SPPMCI website or other online resources. Please take note that no communication through the Internet can ever be 100% secure, and no security measures can ever be assured to be 100% effective. In this case, you are advised to use caution and discretion when determining what personal information to disclose to us.

7. Retention of Collected Information

The information we collected will be retained by SPPMCI in accordance with Philippines Republic Act 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, or for as long as necessary, for the purpose of maintaining your medical records and in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

8. Links to Other Websites

This Privacy Policy applies only to our Site. The Site may contain links to other websites not managed or controlled by SPPMCI. The policies and procedures described herein do not apply to websites or other services that SPPMCI does not manage or control. These links from our Site do not imply that we endorse or have reviewed those websites or other services.

If you access a third-party website by clicking on a hyperlink, or advertisement incorporating a hyperlink, consult the privacy policies of those websites before you submit information to them. SPPMCI is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

9. Agreement for the Collection and Use of Your Information, Amendments to the Privacy Policy

By using the SPPMCI website and online resources, you acknowledge that you have read the terms of this Policy and you agree with the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described above.
